REGROUND
I couldn't sleep for two weeks
I thought I had tried everything. I hadn't understood the real problem yet.
After becoming a mom, something in my body never fully recovered. For two weeks, I couldn't lie down. I couldn't sleep... due to my backpain.Midnight was the hardest. I knelt beside my bed for hours, alone, wondering if the pain would ever end.I relied on painkillers just to get through the day.I saw multiple doctors. I had X-rays, MRIs. I tried traction, laser therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic adjustments. Nothing lasted. The answer was almost always the same: "Your core is weak. You need to exercise."So I started working with a trainer. But sometimes even the exercises meant to help made things worse.I wasn't afraid of hard work. I was afraid of making my back worse.I was clueless for two years. Finally, I paid $3,800 for eight sessions of some special physical therapy. Fifty minutes each.In just a few weeks, it completely changed how I understood my body. For the first time, the pain actually made sense. But I kept thinking...Why should it cost $3,800 to understand my own body?
So I started learning.

The muscle no one told me about
I always thought "core" meant six-pack abs, built through strength training.I was wrong. The muscles that changed my back aren't the ones you can see. They're the deep muscles underneath, like transverse abdominis. It works like your body's natural support belt. Kind of like those lumbar belts you can buy on Amazon. The problem? Sitting, pregnancy, carrying kids... over time, those muscles just stop doing their job.And when they switch off, something else has to take over. Usually, it's your lower back. That's exactly what happened to me.The surprising part: I didn't fix it by getting stronger. I fixed it by teaching those muscles to wake back up.No intense workouts. No sweating. Just 20 minutes of gentle movement, a few times a week. My posture improved, including my anterior pelvic tilt. That completely changed how I understood my body. Then I started wondering about something else. Why did my neck hurt all the time? Why did I suddenly look so much older? Why did my shoulders round forward, my neck seem to disappear?
Rebuilding should fit Into real life
I have learnt a lot... but life with kids rarely comes in uninterrupted hours. Most days are a collection of small pockets of time between work, school drop-offs, meals, laundry, and everything else that needs you. That's why rebuilding our body has to fit into the life we already have, not compete with it.
